Impersonation of officials

This is when fraudsters claim to be officials, eg HMRC to victims.

Fraudsters impersonate officials to make false promises about tax rebates, or to demand fees, “customs payments” or “VAT payments”.

Fraud has been committed if money has been lost.

If fraud has been committed, report it to Action Fraud.
